DEER & INVASIVE SPECIES
IMPACT ASSESSMENTS
Unchecked deer populations and the spread of invasive non-native species can have profound and lasting consequences for native habitats, woodland structure, and biodiversity. Our impact assessment work provides landowners, estate managers, conservation organisations, and developers with a clear, evidence-based picture of the pressures their land is facing and the management interventions required to address them. Deer impact assessments evaluate browsing pressure, bark stripping, and vegetation suppression across woodland, scrub, and grassland habitats, informing sustainable deer management strategies and supporting applications for woodland creation and restoration funding. Invasive species assessments cover a range of problematic taxa — including Japanese knotweed, Himalayan balsam, rhododendron, and grey squirrel — mapping extent, assessing ecological impact, and prioritising areas for intervention. All assessments are produced to a standard suitable for inclusion in planning applications, habitat management plans, and agri-environment scheme submissions, providing clients with a robust baseline from which meaningful, measurable conservation and land management objectives can be set and monitored over time.
