Japanese Knotweed
Japanese knotweed (Fallopia japonica) remains one of the most challenging invasive species facing landowners, developers, and land managers across the UK, with significant legal and financial implications if left unmanaged. Our survey work covers initial identification and extent mapping, producing detailed distribution plans that accurately define the boundaries of any infestation — a critical first step for both management planning and property transactions. We prepare management plans tailored to site conditions, land use, and client requirements, whether that involves multi-year herbicide treatment programmes, excavation and removal, or a combination of approaches. Surveys are conducted in accordance with the Environment Agency's Code of Practice and INNSA guidelines, and we are experienced in producing the knotweed management plans required by mortgage lenders and solicitors. Ongoing monitoring and treatment verification reports provide clients with a clear, documented record of progress, supporting due diligence, planning conditions, and long-term eradication goals.
